Manchester United great Wayne Rooney has expressed his concerns that Arsenal star Bukayo Saka could be dropped from England's starting lineup for their upcoming Euro 2024 match against Slovenia, according to Sportskeeda. Rooney believes that England manager Gareth Southgate may opt to replace Saka with Newcastle United's Anthony Gordon, a decision that Rooney wouldn't be surprised by.

Rooney told The Times, "It wouldn't surprise me if Gareth Southgate moves Phil Foden to the right, brings in Anthony Gordon, and leaves Bukayo Saka out. But I wouldn't do that because I think Saka has been really good. He has been creative and provided some good balls into the box."

Saka has started both of England's Group C games at Euro 2024, featuring in 145 minutes of action and registering an assist for Jude Bellingham's winner against Serbia. However, England's underwhelming display against Denmark has led to speculation about potential changes to the lineup.

Rooney's comments come as England prepares to face Slovenia in their next Euro 2024 group tie at RheinEnergieStadion in Cologne on Tuesday (June 25). While Saka's place in the starting lineup is uncertain, Rooney believes that the Arsenal star has been performing well and shouldn't be replaced by Gordon.
