According to reports from DAILY POST, the Kano State Chairman of the New Nigeria People's Party (NNPP), Hashimu Dungurawa, has warned President Bola Ahmed Tinubu against his perceived stance on the ongoing tussle for the Kano Emirate, stating that his seeming laxity on the matter will surely work against his second term ambition in 2027.

Addressing journalists in his Lugard House office on Sunday, Dungurawa expressed concern over the militarization of Kano by the President due to the Emirate crisis, arguing that it is tarnishing Tinubu's image while allowing "the henchmen in the tussle to roam about freely."

"Your perceived stance on the ongoing Kano Emirate Tussles would surely work against you in 2027 because if you think you can use it to gain ground in Kano when the Chips are down, you will realize your mistakes," Dungurawa warned.

The NNPP Chairman further asserted that the President's alleged reliance on "a few of his kinsmen in Kano and the alleged Bayero's Yoruba lineage" to keep the deposed Emir Aminu Ado Bayero in the state will not save him in the 2027 elections.

"If the President thinks he will use a few of his Kins men in Kano and the alleged Bayero's Yoruba lineage to continue to keep the Deposed Emir Aminu Ado Bayero in the State, let him wait for 2027, we will show him that those People will not help him," Dungurawa said.

Dungurawa appealed to President Tinubu to take decisive action to bring an end to the Emirate debacle by ensuring that the deposed Emir is removed from Kano.

Regarding the NNPP's political plans, Dungurawa announced that the party will field its national leader, Dr. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, as its presidential candidate in the 2027 election, expressing confidence that Kwankwaso will emerge as the next President of Nigeria.

The NNPP chairman also took a swipe at the APC National Chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje, accusing him of presiding over a wicked and mismanaged government during his tenure as the Governor of Kano State.

Dungurawa lamented the plight of civil service retirees, stating that the Ganduje administration had illegally deducted over 5.4 billion naira from their pensions and gratuities.
