According to Manchester Evening News, Manchester United have turned down early bids for Scott McTominay as interest in the midfielder continues to grow.

Scott McTominay is an integral member of the squad at Manchester United, and the club has no intention of letting him go for a bargain price.

The 27-year-old midfielder enjoyed his most prolific goal-scoring season last year, netting ten goals and providing three assists in 43 appearances. His decisive brace against Brentford and Chelsea proved pivotal in securing crucial points for the team.

McTominay's current contract with the Red Devils runs until next summer, with an option for the club to extend it for an additional 12 months.

Discussions regarding McTominay's future are ongoing, as confirmed by Galatasaray vice-chairman Ibrahim Hatipoglu, who stated, "McTominay's transfer fee is being discussed. Negotiations are ongoing for McTominay and Doue. Wan-Bissaka is not our priority."

Under the management of Erik ten Hag, McTominay has been deployed in various roles throughout the previous season. The Scottish international has featured as a holding midfielder, a number 10, and has occasionally led the attack for his side. His versatility has been further showcased when utilized as an impact substitute, providing physicality and aerial prowess in the final third.

Despite interest from West Ham United last summer, who reportedly made a £30 million bid, Manchester United stood firm on their valuation of around £40 million for McTominay.

Currently earning £60,000 per week, McTominay's value to the team is underscored by his ability to perform multiple roles effectively. The club should only entertain offers in the range of £40 million to £50 million, or consider offering him a new contract if such bids do not materialize.

McTominay's adaptability makes him a valuable asset, capable of stepping in and making an impact in various positions, particularly during periods of squad injuries.

Manchester United are also targeting Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Manuel Ugarte this summer. The potential acquisition of Ugarte has gained urgency following Casemiro's dip in form last season, highlighting the need to reinforce the midfield department. Should McTominay depart, ten Hag would likely push for the addition of another midfielder to bolster the squad's depth and versatility.
