Adams Oshiomhole, a senator and a former governor of Edo State, has praised the CBN's recent efforts to stabilise the euro.

According to a video that Channels TV uploaded on YouTube, Oshiomhole expressed concern that Nigeria's condition had deteriorated to the point where it resembled Zimbabwe's when the Naira fell sharply against the dollar, hitting a rate of 2000 naira to 1 dollar. The CBN's proactive steps in handling the matter were, however, recognised by him.

He stated that the CBN's joint efforts with the country's fiscal and monetary authorities were crucial in fortifying the naira and achieving exchange rate stability. He went on to mention President Tinubu's initiatives to secure the repatriation of investment gains as a means to reassure investors and entice foreign investment.

He stated that the goal of this move is to boost economic confidence and stimulate growth in Nigeria. The exchange rate from 2000 naira to $1 sent Oshiomhole "scared stiff" that they had arrived in Zimbabwe, according to him.
