Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State has spoken about the ongoing political crisis between him and his predecessor, former Governor Nyesom Wike.

In a video recently shared on YouTube by Channels TV, Fubara expressed gratitude to Wike for the role he played in helping him to become governor, however, he stated that it is not enough for him to worship any human being. He said if this stance is considered a sin, he is willing to be judged for it in the afterlife, not on earth. He asserted his independence, stating that he is answerable to no one on earth but remains committed to pursuing peace and reconciliation

Fubara said he has actively participated in reconciliation efforts, demonstrating his willingness to engage in dialogue for the greater good of Rivers State.

In Fubara's words: "I can't worship a human being, if that is my sin, let me answer it in the last day in heaven but not on earth, I am not answerable to anyone on earth. But I know that I have always taken the part of peace, I have shown respect and I have subjected myself to every meeting of reconciliation for peace".
