Pastor W.F. Kumuyi, the General Superintendent of the Deeper Christian Life Ministry, issued a stern warning about the infiltration of worldly influences into the church during his sermon titled "Purging And Preserving The Church From The World’s Corruption" at the Workers Training Service.
He emphasized the dangers of the world, under Satan's control, seeping into the church's fabric. "The world (which is being controlled by Satan) is trying to get into the church," Kumuyi declared.
"The lifestyle and way of the world are trying to get into the church, and if this happens, Satan will control and have his way in the church. This will not happen in Jesus' name."
Pastor Kumuyi called for vigilance and collective action to prevent any form of corruption from entering the church. "As we study, we need to look critically, so that if there is any stain and corruption coming from anywhere into the church, all of us will rally around and ensure that the church is purged and ready for the coming of the Lord," he urged.
He underscored the necessity for every believer to strive for personal sanctification, as the church's purity hinges on the godliness of its members. "If every believer in the church is godly, the church will be godly. If every believer is saved and sanctified, the church will be a saved and sanctified church."
Pastor Kumuyi reiterated the importance of preparing the church for Christ's return by maintaining holiness and purity. "The Lord is coming for a glorious church. If He is to meet us so, every one of us must make up our minds and ensure that we are part of the glorious church. But if anyone is a spot or a blemish, we will not have a glorious church."
