Despite enduring a difficult start to life at Arsenal, Jesus has been a top striker in the Premier League since his arrival to Manchester City back in 2017.
His excellent form during these years has seen him amass 73 Premier League goals in 212 games, which puts him just nine goals behind the highest-scoring Brazilian player in Premier League history – Roberto Firmino.
Jesus is not alone in his pursuit of this record, however, with Tottenham Hotspur’s Richarlison also hot on the tail of it. The former Everton star is currently a little behind Jesus, with 60 goals currently.
Jesus saw limited playing time last season due to poor form and injury, so it remains to be seen if he will have enough time to chase the record, especially as Arsenal continue to be linked with a whole host of strikers in the transfer window.
Because of his poor form as of late, it is easy for fans to forget just how successful Jesus has been in his career. He is a four-time Premier League winner, Copa Americá winner, FA Cup winner and four-time Carabao Cup winner – an impressive showing for someone who is just 27 years old.
