England goalkeeper Mary Earps has completed a move to Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) following her departure from Manchester United, according to The Athletic.

The 31-year-old signed a two-year deal with the French club after her contract with United expired at the end of last month.

Earps flew to Paris on Friday to undergo a medical and finalize her contract, marking a significant transition in her career. "Joining Paris Saint-Germain is a fantastic opportunity," Earps stated.

"I’m very honoured to become a Parisian and I can’t wait to play alongside my new team-mates. Together, we’re going to give our all to help the club shine and make our fans proud."

Her move to PSG comes after careful consideration, with the final decision made just last week. Earps expressed gratitude to United fans in a farewell message, saying it was "the right time to make a change and embark on a new challenge."

Currently, Earps is with the England squad, continuing her recovery from an injury sustained in a European Championship qualifier against France in May.

England faces Republic of Ireland and Sweden in Euro 2025 qualifiers on July 12 and 16, and Earps is expected to remain involved with the national team during this period.

PSG will resume team training in mid-July, depending on players’ international commitments, and will participate in a pre-season tournament in Australia from August 25 to September 2.

PSG finished 11 points behind Lyon last season after winning the Division 1 Féminine title in the 2022-23 season.

Manchester United, on the other hand, has faced criticism regarding the management of their women's team.

Reports indicate the women’s team will be moved out of their £11 million training facility to accommodate the men’s first team during the 2024-25 season.

United finished fifth in the Women’s Super League last season but secured their first major trophy by winning the FA Cup.

Earps made 125 appearances for United after joining from Wolfsburg in 2019 and has earned 50 senior caps for England. In January, she was named

The Best FIFA Women’s Goalkeeper for the second consecutive year, making history as the first two-time winner of the award.
