Fatal Road Accident along Thika-Murang'a Highway Leaves 4 Dead

On Saturday morning, a tragic accident on the Thika-Murang'a Highway claimed the lives of four individuals. The collision occurred in the Kabati area and involved three vehicles: a bus and two personal cars. According to Murang’a police commander Mathiu Kaingi, the crash was caused by a driver suspected to be under the influence of alcohol. The impaired driver swerved, hitting another car, which then collided with an oncoming speeding bus.

Murang’a police commander Mathiu Kaingi reported that one person died immediately at the scene, while the other three succumbed to their injuries at a hospital in Thika. Kaingi stated that investigations into the crash began promptly and emphasized the importance of adhering to traffic regulations to prevent such tragedies.

In a related incident two days earlier, another accident in the north rift region resulted in four fatalities. This crash occurred on the Iten-Eldoret Highway in the Moiben area and involved a PSV matatu belonging to 2 Ways Shuttle. The vehicle's tire burst, causing it to veer off the road and roll into a ditch, killing two men and two women and injuring eight others. The injured were taken to Iten County Hospital for treatment.
