Nollywood performer TC Okafor, a survivor of a tragic boat accident that claimed lives, including actor Junior Pope and three others, recently recounted his terrifying ordeal to Sahara Reporters. The incident unfolded on the River Niger during the return journey from filming a movie produced by Adamma Luke.

During an Instagram Live broadcast, Okafor narrated the sequence of events preceding the accident and its aftermath, expressing dismay at the producer's reaction. He disclosed that following his rescue, Adamma Luke had him apprehended on false charges by the boat operator, accusing Okafor of obstructing his vision and causing the mishap.

Expressing disillusionment with the industry's hurdles, Okafor declared his intention to withdraw from acting, citing numerous close calls, poisoning incidents, and career-related accidents. He underscored the necessity of prioritizing his comedic endeavors instead.

As per Okafor, the accident stemmed from the boat operator's negligence and lack of expertise. While Pope was filming, the distracted operator failed to notice an approaching fishing canoe while adjusting for the footage, resulting in a collision and the boat overturning. Okafor survived by clutching onto the boat's anchor rope and was rescued by nearby boat operators.
