Man Utd beat Newcastle United 3-2. With Amad Scoring his First Premier League Goal
Manchester United moved level on points with Newcastle after defeating the Magpies 3-2 at Old Trafford, thanks to goals from Amad Diallo and Rasmus Hojlund.
Erik Ten Hag's squad led with a goal from Kobbie Mainoo at the break, but Anthony Gordon equalized early in the second half of an exciting match that was full of opportunities on both ends of the field.
Hojlund scored a second goal off the bench after Amad had regained the lead with his first Premier League strike from the edge of the penalty box. Lewis Hall's goal gave the match a thrilling conclusion, but Newcastle is now only kept in seventh place by goal differential.
Just before the hour mark, Amad Diallo scored his first Premier League goal to give Manchester United the lead again after Newcastle was unable to clear a corner. However, Eddie Howe's team was just inches away from an equalizer when Miguel Almiron missed a low cross from the outstanding Gordon at the far post.
Hojlund was left to calm down the home crowd by moving to his right and scoring his 15th goal of the year with a low finish into the bottom corner.
Lewis Hall, a left defender for Newcastle, scored from the edge of the box in the second minute of stoppage time, but the home team hung on, so those nerves were still jangling a little.
Newcastle must triumph on the last day at Brentford to be certain of a top-seven finish.
