48 Ministers Appointed, South East Got 5 Instead Of 8, While Some Regions Get 10—Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu

Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide President General Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu has spoken out against the oppression of Nigeria's Igbo people. The region has been unfairly excluded from government positions and infrastructure development, he said, despite the region's contributions to the nation.

Iwuanyanwu pointed out that other zones have six or seven states, while the Southeast only has five, according to the Guardian newspaper. He went on to say that the president has nominated 48 ministers, but just five from the Southeast, compared to as many as ten from other zones. A blatant breach of the Federal Character principle was how he defined it.

Additionally, he voiced his displeasure about the lack of progress in developing the Southeast's railway infrastructure, notwithstanding the region's substantial economic contribution to the nation. According to Iwuanyanwu, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu has spent a lot of time behind bars for charges that are identical to those of others, who have since been released.

By allocating the presidency to the Southeast, the Ohanaeze leader lauded Chief Edwin K. Clark for his unwavering struggle against injustice and the Southern and Middle-Belt Leaders' Forum. He brought up the fact that Peter Obi was able to secure the forum's endorsement since they decided to back an Igbo candidate.

Iwuanyanwu said, "We expect Mr. President to look into this matter to forestall future occurrences." He then requested President Tinubu to do something about the Igbo people's marginalisation. He stressed that the Igbo people are marginalised in reality and that this anomaly must be addressed if all Nigerians are to be included and treated fairly.
