According to a report from the Sun, Pa Edwin Clark, an elder statesman and leader of the Southern and Middle-Belt Leaders Forum, spoke on the situation of Sunday Igboho, a notable advocate for the Oduduwa Nation in South-West Nigeria.

He pointed out that Igboho has been able to return to Nigeria to bury his mother and continues to move freely between the Republic of Benin, Nigeria, and Germany.

Clark emphasized the government's position on labeling those who call for the breakup of Nigeria as terrorists. He noted that Sunday Igboho, along with several professors, had advocated for the Oduduwa Nation. These professors, some of whom used to attend meetings with Clark, supported Igboho until an incident occurred at his house involving security forces, resulting in deaths and the seizure of weapons, which led Igboho to flee to the Republic of Benin.

Clark explained that Igboho has since returned to Nigeria to bury his mother and continues to travel between the Republic of Benin, Nigeria, and Germany. However, he reiterated that Igboho has been accused of being a terrorist, as the government considers anyone who suggests that Nigeria should not remain united to be a terrorist.

In his own words, he remarked, "Sunday Igboho in the South-West said he wanted Oduduwa Nation. Some professors joined him. I know some of them, who used to attend meetings with me here. They joined him until he had this problem in the house with the security men, where people were killed. Guns were seized and so on which made him run outside Nigeria to the Republic of Benin.

So now he’s back. His mother died, he came to bury his mother. He is in and out of Nigeria, whether in the Republic of Benin or in Nigeria or in Germany. So he’s a free man. But he too was accused of being a terrorist. Anybody who tries to say Nigeria should not exist is a terrorist. That is what the government said."
