Kano APC Voids Ganduje's Suspension, Sanctions Ward Leaders

The State Working Committee of the Kano chapter of the All Progressive Congress (APC) has sanctions some ward party leaders who earlier suspended the national chairman of the party, Umar Abdullahi Ganduje.

Leaders in Ganduje’s ward in Dawakin Tofa Local Government had on Monday suspended the APC national chairman.

However, in a quick counter, the party’s local government officials thwarted the suspension and sacked those behind it.

Israel Releases 150 Detainees- Gaza Officials

Israeli soldiers have rounded up hundreds of Palestinians during their more than six-month military offensive in Gaza, holding them without charge before releasing some in groups.

The latest detainees to be released were taken to Israel and returned via the Kerem Shalom border crossing before some were treated in a hospital in Rafah, in the south of the besieged territory, according to the Gaza crossings authority and an AFP journalist.

Borno raises hope for rescue of 89 Chibok schoolgirls

The United States (U.S.) has reaffirmed its support for Nigeria’s fight against terrorists.

It also pledged to help terror survivors and their families in line with shared values and common goals by both countries.

Spokesperson for the U.S. Embassy, Aishah Gambari, made these known yesterday as Nigeria marked 10 years of the abduction of 276 schoolgirls by terrorists in Chibok, Borno State.


INEC Tenders Documents Against SDP, Ajaka's Petition At Tribunal

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), on Monday, tendered electoral documents against the petition by the Social Democratic Party (SDP) and its candidate, Murtala Ajaka, challenging the election victory of Gov. Usman Ododo.

INEC’s counsel, Uchenna Njoku, who held the brief of Chief Kanu Agabi, SAN, tendered the documents before the Kogi State Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Abuja.

It would be recalled that INEC conducted the Kogi governorship election on Nov. 11, 2023.


Nigeria's Crude Oil Reserves Hit 37.50bb

Nigeria’s crude oil reserves increased from 36.96 billion barrels (bb) on January 1st, 2023 to 37.50bb on January 1st, 2024.

Besides, the country’s Natural Gas reserves rose from N208.83 trillion Cubic Feet (TCF) on 1st January 2023 to 209.26TCF on January 1st 2024.

The Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC) Chief Executive Officer, Engr. Gbenga Komolafe broke the news to reporters in Abuja on Monday, April 15.


Wike Donates Motorcycles To DSS, Police, Others

Following some kidnapping cases in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Minister of FCT, Nyesom Wike, has handed over 60 motorcycles to the Department of State Services (DSS) and Vigilance Group of Nigeria (VGN).

Wike also gave 30 motorcycles to the Nigeria Police and five each to the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).

The minister, at the handover ceremony held on Monday, April 15, in Abuja, warned that the motorcycles must not be used in townships but in hard-to-reach parts of the territory to fight insecurity.
