According to Daily Post, Primate Elijah Ayodele, the leader of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, has urged Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), to appeal to the Nigerian government for his release. Primate Ayodele's advice came during the launch of his 30th edition of “Warning to the Nations” at his church in Lagos. He expressed concern over Kanu's continued detention, warning that Kanu's refusal to seek clemency could lead to his death while in custody.

The IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu, has been detained by the Department of State Services (DSS) on the orders of the Nigerian government since June 2021. He was re-arrested in Kenya and brought back to Nigeria, where he has remained in detention despite court rulings granting him bail. Primate Ayodele emphasized the urgency of Kanu's situation, suggesting that appealing to the government might be his only chance for survival.

In parallel developments, Southeast governors and senators have agreed to meet with President Bola Tinubu to explore a political solution to Kanu’s continued detention. This move indicates a potential shift towards a more diplomatic approach to resolving the issues surrounding Kanu's imprisonment. The discussions with the President reflect the broader political dynamics and the efforts to find a peaceful resolution to the ongoing conflict.

Primate Ayodele also made broader predictions about Nigeria’s future, stating that the country would eventually break up without violent conflict. He mentioned that the breakup would originate from the North, and clarified that neither Nnamdi Kanu nor Sunday Igboho, a prominent Yoruba Nation agitator, would be responsible for this division. Ayodele’s remarks suggest a significant shift in Nigeria's political landscape in the coming years.

He said: Kanu should beg the government before he is released or else he will die in jail.
