Kwara Customs Command generates N10bn in five months.

According to a report by Punch. Between January and May of 2024, the Nigeria Customs Service, Kwara State Command, produced N10,027,580,694.63 for the Federal Government's coffers.

During the review period, the command also made 21 seizures of various banned commodities, totaling N35.4 million in duty paid.

Faith Ojeifo, the Customs Area Controller for the Kwara Area Command, revealed this on Thursday in the state capital of Ilorin while educating reporters on the operations of the command over the previous six months.

The occasion also included the delivery of empowerment items to Customs Officers' Wives Association members and the gift of relief supplies to the state Ministry of Social Development for additional distribution to the most disadvantaged members.

According to Ojeifo, among the illicit and forbidden goods that the Customs officers confiscated were 1,055 pieces of worn tires and 507 bags of foreign rice.
