Elder Statesman, Edwin Clark Says PDP Will Collapse If Atiku Is Allowed To Contest 2027 Election

Chief Edwin Clark, the leader of Pan Niger Delta Forum (PANDEF) has said that the political party of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) would collapse if it allows Former Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar to contest for the 2027 Presidential election.

According to Vanguard, he recently made this known while stressing that other individuals should be allowed to contest for the office. He further urged the leadership of the political party to ensure that the right measure is taken to address its leadership issues alongside other crisis bedeviling the party.

He said: " Rumours have it that Atiku is already preparing for the 2027 presidential election. If this is allowed, PDP will collapse as the second principal party in the country. While no one is contesting his right indicating interest for the presidency of the country as many times as he wishes, which as the last count is up to five (5) times, he should also know that fair play is the bedrock of the game ".
