Second Lieutenant Oluchukwu Owowoh of the Nigerian Army has been promoted to the rank of Lieutenant. This notable advancement was directed by the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja.

The Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) shared this update on Wednesday, June 26, 2024, via their official X handle (formerly Twitter). During a ceremony held at the NDA Officer’s Mess and Golf Club, Major General JO Ochai, the NDA Commandant, praised Lt. Owowoh for her outstanding achievements. He highlighted her journey, emphasizing that her exceptional performance as a cadet earned her the distinction of being the first Nigerian female officer trained at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, leading to her promotion.

The event was attended by senior military officers, academic and non-academic staff, family members, and other notable guests. LEADERSHIP recalls that in April, Owowoh made history as the first Nigerian female officer to graduate from the prestigious Royal Military Academy (RMA) in Sandhurst, United Kingdom.
