Wike Refuses To Speak With FCT Senator So How Are People's Needs Be Communicated To Him—Senator Ireti Kingibe

In a recent interview, Senator Ireti Kingibe, has discussed various topics including President Tinubu’s administration and her experiences as a first-time senator, as reported by The Sun.

One of the highlights was her statements about the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike.

In the interview, Kingibe addressed comments made by Wike, who was the former governor of Rivers State and now serves as the FCT Minister.

Wike had reportedly said that Kingibe wanted him to be her friend, but he did not reciprocate.

Kingibe responded to Wike's statements with disbelief and clarified that she had never been in the same room with Wike except during a Senate committee meeting.

The senator then turned to a more serious issue, underlining the importance of communication between the FCT Minister and the senator representing the area.

She expressed concern about how the wishes and needs of the people could be communicated to the minister under these circumstances.

"Please what constitutes friendship between two people who’ve never met each other? I have never sat in the same room with the minister except in a Senate committee. So how does friendship arise? Why would I want to be the friend of somebody I do not know. The truth of the matter is that the minister refuses to speak or communicate in any way with a senator representing the Federal Capital Territory, so how are the wishes and the needs of the people to be communicated to him. Please tell me if you know a way to do that," Kingibe recounted with a laugh.
