Hon. Agboola Ajayi, the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the upcoming November 16 elections in Ondo State, has expressed strong confidence in defeating Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa. Ajayi stated his deep connection with grassroots politics and his comprehensive understanding of the economic needs of the Sunshine State, as reported by THE NATION.

Ajayi, speaking in Akure during his unveiling by the Ondo PDP leadership ahead of the party’s campaign tour across the 18 local government areas, highlighted his vision for the state's economic revival and sustainable growth. He criticized the current administration under the APC for its failures, stating that many previously vibrant communities are now economically stagnant due to poor governance.

He stated his commitment to transforming Ondo State, stating that he was embarking on a journey to totally transform the state and make it one to be proud of. Ajayi mentioned that he would not simply provide for the people but would teach them self-sufficiency.

Ajayi recounted his extensive political experience, which began at a young age, and expressed confidence that the people of Ondo State are ready for a change. He noted that the people of the state are familiar with him and will make a wise choice in the upcoming election.

In his words: “I started politics at a very tender age as a ward chairman. I was one of those who went for Abiola’s convention in Jos. So, you should know that I started long ago. From there, I became secretary of the party, I became a councilor, I was also elected as a supporting chairman.

“So, the people of the state know us very well, they are going to choose wisely, I can assure you, they have already chosen me to lead the state in the coming election.”
