Chief Edwin Clark, leader of the Pan Niger Delta Forum (PANDEF), has voiced apprehensions regarding the dynamic between the Federal Ministry of Justice and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

He advocates for a return to the operational framework instituted during Nuhu Ribadu's tenure as EFCC Chairman, emphasizing the importance of the agency's independence.

In a recent video disseminated on YouTube by Arise TV, Chief Clark rebuked former Minister of Justice and ex-Attorney General of the Federation, Malami, for allegedly wielding undue influence over the EFCC. This interference has sparked concerns about transparency and the responsible handling of assets seized by the commission.

Clark alleged that Malami oversaw the sale of assets, including ships in Lagos and Port Harcourt, without proper oversight, leading to unaccountability. Moreover, he highlighted the irony of Malami's subsequent marriage to former President Buhari's daughter, lamenting the state of affairs in the country.
