Chelsea breaks two unwanted club records after 5-0 thrashing at Arsenal

Chelsea have broken their own record for the most Premier League goals conceded in a season following their humiliating 5-0 defeat at Arsenal, according to Metro.

Arsenal handed Chelsea the most humiliating defeat of the Mauricio Pochettino era so far as they romped to an emphatic 5-0 victory on Tuesday. After Leandro Trossard's early opener, Ben White and Kai Havertz both netted twice for Mikel Arteta's Premier League leaders, with Chelsea's decent first-half performance descending into farce after the interval.

Chelsea's struggles this season have often been attributed to their underperforming attack, but in reality, their subpar defense has been the bigger letdown, as evident in their recent loss at the Emirates. This defeat has pushed their total goals conceded to 57, a new record for the most goals allowed in a single Premier League season. With six games remaining, this defensive vulnerability is a pressing concern. Previously, their worst defensive records were 55 goals conceded in the 1994-95 and 1996-97 seasons, when there were more games played. Additionally, Tuesday's loss marked their worst defeat against Arsenal in 209 meetings.
