On Tuesday 2nd July 2024 another round of anti government protests took place in different parts of the country. In Nairobi Central Business District, businesses were left closed as people feared being looted from. Protesters took to the streets for the 3rd week of demonstrations. The youth (Gen Z) engaged in running battles with the police as some of the protesters vandalised some important historical monuments including the Tom Mboya Monument in Nairobi.

Tom Mboya's monument in Nairobi Central Business District was embellished with a mask, a tear gas canister, glasses, bottle of water, a bag, and a reject not amend banner in Nairobi, near Archives. This complete and utter disrespect for our nation's heros needs to be stopped. Protesters also lined up brown caskets along Moi Avenue, to block the road. Police found a hard time dispersing protests as they used tear gas in Nairobi Central Business District. Little to no vehicle were seen on the roads as the youth blocked key roads with stones.
