Nigeria generating 4.5GW electricity a shame – Tinubu

President Bola Tinubu has said it’s a shame that Nigeria generates 4.5GW of electricity despite the size of the country.

Tinubu spoke while inaugurating a 31-member Presidential Economic Coordination Council at the Council Chamber, Presidential Villa Abuja yesterday.

He emphasized the need for innovative solutions to the country’s economic challenges.

End killings in Nasarawa – Group urges Governor Sule

A socio-cultural group, the Alago Ikweyi Ggayi Development Union, has called on the Nasarawa State Government to urgently intervene in the ongoing killings resulting from a land dispute between the Alago and Tiv farmers in Keana Local Government Area of the state.

The group warned that the situation could escalate into a full-blown war across the state.

DAILY POST had earlier reported that a crisis erupted around the Nasarawa-Benue border communities, which are home to indigenous Alago and Tiv farmers.

Youth leader arrested in church over death of mother of three in hotel

Shock and disbelief were etched on the faces of worshipers of a Protestant church in Rumukalagbor area of Rivers State, as they watched in horror as policemen whisked away a youth leader, Tuouamene, from the church.

The sudden and unexpected turn of events occurred shortly after Tuouamene had given a powerful testimony, which left some of the congregation overwhelmed with emotion.

However, the shock and disbelief that had gripped the church earlier was replaced with stunned silence when news spread like wildfire that the youth leader was arrested in connection with the death of a mother of three in a hotel.

The deceased was said to be an old flame of the youth leader.

Osun police arrest ally to alleged kidnap kingpin, Emir, several others

The Osun State Police Command has arrested one John Olowosaye, who allegedly conspired with Olalekan Oyeyemi, a.k.a Emir, in the abduction of some people in Ede sometime in August 2023.

The Osun police command spokesperson, Yemisi Opalola revealed this while addressing journalists while parading suspects at the Police Command headquarters in Osogbo on Friday.

Opalola revealed that after abducting his victims, the perpetrators brought them to Balogun Area in Osogbo, where a ransom of N2.6 million was paid to the account of Oyeyemi.
