Court Orders Buhari's Minister, Sadia Umar-Farouk To Account For N729Billion ‘Payments To Millions Of Poor Nigerians’

A Federal High Court in Lagos has ordered Ms Sadia Umar-Farouk, former Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disasters Management and Social Development to account for the payments of N729 billion to 24.3 million poor Nigerians for six months.

The court also ordered the former minister to provide the list and details of the beneficiaries who received the payments, the number of states covered and the payments per state.

The judgment was delivered last month by Hon. Justice Deinde Isaac Dipeolu following a Freedom of Information suit numbered FHC/L/CS/853/2021, brought by the Socio-Economic Rights And Accountability Project. SERAP said it obtained the certified true copy of the judgment last Friday.

Wike Presents Vehicles To Security Agencies

Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has presented 50 operational vehicles fitted with communication gadgets to security agencies to strengthen the fight against insecurity in the territory, saying any leader who cannot secure the lives and property of citizens has no business in governance.

The minister, while handing over the vehicles to the agencies, said the measure was to support security agencies with the needed logistics to enable them combat crime without complaint.

The FCT Police Command got 24 vehicles, the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), eight, Advance Party/Security Monitoring and FCT Administration got six while the Department of State Services (DSS) got five.

Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu has unveiled a small private vegetable garden in the State House as her contribution to the nation's food drive.

This was revealed in a video posted on X platform by TVC television, in which Mrs Tinubu said the garden has at least seven types of vegetable including spinach, water leaf, bitter leaf, Ewedu, lemon grass, scent leaf and okro.

The first lady highlighted the power of individual actions, stating that while single efforts may seem small, they can collectively make a substantial difference in advancing the food security initiative, emphasising the importance of collaborative efforts to drive meaningful change.

Expect political coup against Tinubu – Primate Ayodele

The Leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has warned President Bola Tinubu of what he called a political coup.

He claimed that there were saboteurs in his government.

Addressing journalists during the launch of his 30th Warning to The Nation in Lagos, Primate Ayodele also warned that the 2023 presidential candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Atiku Abubakar and the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike will kill the party.

Primate Ayodele said: “Come 2027, I see a dark cloud; Atiku will kill PDP completely. If they don’t fight Wike, PDP will die. Wike is the one that will kill PDP. Atiku should forget 2027 ambition.

“Tinubu needs to look after his health while going for second term.
