Farotimi Dele, a lawyer has shared a story about former President Olusegun Obasanjo, who allegedly kept a lion cub he was gifted in a small cage within his presidential library complex.

In a post on Dele's Facebook page, he said when he visited the library complex with his wife, he noticed the constraints in which the full-grown lion was living and this led him to reflect on the larger issue of leadership in Nigeria

Dele said the main problem of Nigeria is the lack of vision and wisdom among its leaders. He said despite Obasanjo's intelligence, he overlooked the fact that the lion cub would grow into a full-grown lion needing more space. He argued that the country's biggest challenge lies in the leaders' inability to envision the future and plan accordingly

In his words: "I went to Obasanjo Presidential Library with my wife to see what he built in his private space. So when I witnessed what he had built in his private space and I saw the constraint with which this lion was living, I realized at the time that the biggest problem of the Nigerian system is the limited wisdom, vision, and capacity for envisioning that afflicts those who rule Nigeria"
