In a recent interview on Channels Television, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, the Labour Party's gubernatorial candidate for Lagos in the 2023 elections, expressed strong criticism of the current administration's approach to urban management and security.

Rhodes-Vivour pointed out what he perceives as a glaring inconsistency in the government's priorities. "We have a government that is very active in demolition," he stated, emphasizing the aggressive nature of recent urban renewal and demolition campaigns. However, he highlighted a shortfall in the government's proactive measures to ensure public safety and effective traffic management amidst these activities.

"We are not seeing men on ground; we're not seeing intelligence being given out early, 'avoid these routes'; creating diversions," he remarked. Rhodes-Vivour's comments reflect a concern among Lagos residents about the lack of timely information and visible security presence, which he believes are crucial for mitigating the disruptions caused by demolition activities and maintaining public order.
