NAF Airstrike Kill Terrorists, Destroy Hideouts In Borno

The Nigerian Air Force on Wednesday said several terrorists were killed during a joint operation by the air component of Operation Hadin Kai and troops of the Nigerian Army.

The service also said their hideouts in Damasak and Mobbar local government areas of Borno State were equally destroyed.

A statement by its Director, Public Relations and Information, Air Vice Marshal Edward Gabkwet, noted that the terrorists had attempted to attack troops of Sector 4 of the MNJTF at Lada, a border town between the Niger Republic and Nigeria, and subsequently fled across the border into Nigeria.

EFCC Hands Over Recovered Assets To Enugu Gov

The Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Ola Olukoyede, on Wednesday, handed over 14 recovered assets to Governor Peter Mba of Enugu State.

During the handing over ceremony held at the EFCC Headquarters, Jabi, Abuja, Olukoyede revealed that the assets recovered by the commission was forfeited to the Federal Government.

He added that the EFCC began an investigation into the development since 2007, and had achieved the conviction of persons in relation to the matter.


PDP Praises Gov Eno

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has described the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Pastor Umo Eno, as God’s gift to humanity for his outstanding and people oriented style of governance.

The party described Pastor Eno as a humble, friendly and compassionate leader; a lover of humanity and bearer of joy to the down-trodden; a true servant leader who continues to demonstrate that the essence of political leadership is in using the influence, authority and opportunities therein to serve the good and wellbeing of others.

This was contained in a birthday message signed on behalf of the party by the National Publicity Secretary, Hon. Debo Ologunagba, in Abuja, on Wednesday.


Father Arrested Writing JAMB For Son

The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB), has warned that it has improved its technology check for those engaging in all forms of examination malpractices, saying a father was arrested writing the exams for his son during the ongoing Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

Speaking in Kaduna on Wednesday, the JAMB Registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede who inspected the UTME centres in Kaduna, expressed satisfaction over the 2024 examination, which had 1.94 million students this year.

He, however, frowned at few cases of impersonation, adding that some people now have multiple National Identity Number (NIN) which the examination body would take up with the Identification Management body.
