A storm is brewing in Rivers State as Honorable Solomon Bob, a member of the House of Representatives, has called on President Bola Tinubu to take decisive action against Governor Siminalayi Fubara.

According to a statement made public in Abuja reportded by PUNCH News, Honorable Bob accused Governor Fubara of disrespecting the President and breaking numerous constitutional clauses, making it unacceptable for him to continue in office.

Bob alleged that Governor Fubara has no respect for President Tinubu and has consistently flouted the law, including the December settlement brokered by the President. He noted that the governor had benefited more from the settlement than anyone else, but has since reneged on his promises. Bob further accused Fubara of running a government without a budget, spending state funds recklessly, and unlawfully withholding money from local governments.

The lawmaker pleaded with the President to take action against Governor Fubara's "gross lawlessness and constitutional abuse" and urged the House of Assembly to remain unhindered in its constitutional duty to take appropriate action against the governor. Bob warned that if the President fails to act, it would be perceived as endorsing Fubara's extraordinary acts of lawlessness.

The development has sparked concerns about the state of governance in Rivers State, with many calling for decisive action against the governor. As the situation continues to unfold, it remains to be seen whether President Tinubu will take heed of Honorable Bob's call and intervene in the matter.
