Raila Odinga has issued seven new demands to the government following a consultative meeting today amidst countrywide youth protests.

He emphasized the need for political leaders to prioritize the voices of the people over their own agendas, declaring this as Kenya's final opportunity for progress. Raila urged swift action on all demands to prevent further turmoil, warning that failure to heed these calls could have dire consequences for the nation.

Key demands include holding the Kenya Kwanza Regime accountable for all casualties, injuries, and property damage resulting from the suppression of peaceful protests. He called on the President to publicly instruct security forces to cease abductions allegedly sanctioned by the state and demanded the release of all detained individuals.

Raila also urged the Independent Police Oversight Authority to expedite investigations into recent incidents, including allegations of police misconduct in Githurai and Rongai. He criticized the events of June 25, 2024, as a clear vote of no confidence in the current administration, asserting that Deputy President Ruto seems oblivious to this sentiment.

Furthermore, the ODM Party pledged support for credible austerity measures within the executive and parliament. They also announced plans to initiate recall processes for six MPs, citing repeated violations of their oath of office and neglect of constituent interests in Gem, Bondo, Navakholo, Kajiado Central, Ikolomani, and Suba South.
