According to Vanguard, emerging musician Iyi Innocent Diamond, popularly known as Acedrich, has candidly shared his journey into the music industry and his perspective on attaining fame in Nigeria.
In a recent interview with Potpourri during the promotion of his latest single, “Better Days,” Acedrich emphasized the importance of maintaining visibility for aspiring artists. “People need to see you constantly, whether it’s through your music or something else you’re good at,” he stated.
Despite his preference for steering clear of trouble, Acedrich declared his readiness to face controversy head-on if it arises.
The Edo-born artist has been immersed in the music scene for seven years, beginning as a dancer in a group before embarking on a solo career.
“When my parents passed away, my sisters raised me, and they weren’t too keen on me venturing into music,” Acedrich shared. “They encouraged me to focus on school and secure a stable career.”
Balancing his passion for music with academics, Acedrich pursued his education at Ambrose Alli University. He acknowledged the risks of relying solely on music in Nigeria's current landscape, highlighting the necessity of diverse income streams.
“Right now, I run a successful business alongside acting and making music,” he concluded.
