Lawyer Ahmed Musa Rufai from Lagos and a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has raised concerns about Nigerians' ability to hold their political leaders accountable. Rufai noted that although Nigerians often criticize their representatives' poor governance, many citizens are too preoccupied with hunger to effectively voice their concerns.

According to Rufai, leaders exploit this hunger to stifle dissent and sow discord among the populace, particularly in the distribution of relief supplies. He concluded that the existing system is flawed and works to silence the people's voices, underscoring the hurdles faced by Nigerians in challenging political figures and demanding transparency and good governance.

In an exclusive interview with The Sun, Musa Rufai said, "Nigerians are voicing out strongly against the bad leadership of our representatives, but the problem is that they have succeeded in making the people hungry, so their voices are dimmed. Nigerians do not even eat well at the moment for their voices to be heard. The leaders have made hunger the weapon to lash us and divided us in the line of palliatives. That is to make us keep quiet. The system is just bad."
