One of the individuals detained by the Police Command of the Federal Capital Territory in relation to the tragic killing of Brigadier General Uwen Harold (retd.) in the Kabusa area of the FCT has provided details on why they reportedly took his life by repeatedly stabbing him.

The suspect, Rabiu Ibrahim, shared in a confession video obtained by PUNCH Metro that they assaulted the victim with knives when he purportedly tried to harm them with his firearm.

According to The Punch, it was reported that Ibrahim revealed that, following the killing, the group also took the victim’s phone and laptop.

During an interview with journalists on Monday, Ibrahim recounted the incident in Pidgin English, which has now been translated, Ibrahim said, “My name is Rabiu Ibrahim from Kano. I was arrested for robbery. We stole his (the Gen’s) phone and laptop. We had two knives with us. It was Kazeem who stabbed him in the belly and I stabbed him in the arm. The reason why we stabbed him was that he brought out a gun. We killed him because he had a gun.”

When he was questioned by reporters about whether he knew that the victim was a retired military officer, the suspect responded in the negative.

PUNCH Online's report on Monday, made it known that the FCT police arrested four suspects on Sunday in connection with the killing of Harold at his residence in the Kabusa area of the FCT. The retired general was allegedly murdered during a robbery in his home on Saturday.

Abiodun Durowaiye-Herbert, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees at REMNAF, disclosed in a phone interview with one of our correspondents that the robbers attacked him around 3 am.
