IPOB Leader, Nnamdi Kanu Reportedly Agrees To Comply With Tinubu Govt's Terms Of Release

The detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, has reportedly agreed to comply with the conditions set by President Bola Tinubu-led Nigerian government for his release from the custody of the Department of State Services (DSS).

This was disclosed by Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe representing Abia South Senatorial District on Wednesday after their recent meeting between the South-East Senators and the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Lateef Fagbemi (SAN) on Kanu’s release.

Led by Senator Abaribe, approximately 15 federal lawmakers participated in the closed-door meeting.

Senator Abaribe, speaking on behalf of his colleagues after the meeting, expressed optimism that the Attorney-General would influence the Federal Government to consider releasing Kanu.

Okorocha’s House Collapses In Abuja

A five-storey building owned by the former governor of Imo State, Rochas Okorocha, has collapsed along Ahmadu Bello Way in Abuja.

The building, according to the report, collapsed around 9:pm yesterday sending panic to the entire neighbourhood.

In a swift reaction, personnel of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command immediately cordoned off the entire area.

It was gathered that the collapsed building was under renovation.

Eyewitnesses said some persons might have been trapped in the building.

Adamawa Gov Fintiri Declares Free University Education For Female Students With 9 WAEC Credits

The Governor of Adamawa State, Umaru Fintiri, on Wednesday launched a free university education policy for female students who have scored nine credits in the senior secondary school examination.

Fintiri announced the policy in his office while granting audience to parents of 21 pioneer benefiting students of what he described as "the fulfilment of my campaign promise."

He noted that the policy which underscores the fulfilment of his campaign promise, aims to drive female gender education, with particular focus on mitigating social vices.

According to him, there's a direct correlation between lack of education and criminality.

Several people have been reportedly killed in Borikyo, in the Ukum Local Government of Benue State following an attack on the community by unknown armed men.

SaharaReporters gathered the attackers invaded the community on Wednesday afternoon, killing residents indiscriminately. They also burnt the local government secretariat.

It was also gathered that the residence of the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Paul Biam in Zaki Biam was also burnt down during the attack.
