Chelsea secured a 2-0 victory against Tottenham in the Premier League at Stamford Bridge.

It was a comfortable game for the Blues throughout, with Spurs struggling to create too many chances, producing 1.64 expected goals, but only three of their shots were on target.

Pochettino’s men were clinical when they had to be in front of goal, scoring twice from an expected goals tally of 1.94.

The home side opened the scoring in the first half through Chalobah, who leapt above Emerson from a Gallagher free-kick and found the back of the net with a looping header.

Romero should have equalised for Spurs later in the half, but he failed to hit the target from a few yards out. After the break, Tottenham started to gain more control and looked dangerous in the final third, but it was the Blues who found the second goal.

Palmer's free-kick struck the underside of the bar and bounced in the air, and it fell to Jackson who headed into the corner with Vicario struggling to get back to his feet.

Chelsea climb to eighth place in the Premier League table, while Spurs now face an uphill battle to qualify for Champions League football.
