When they said they were giving each Senator 50 million to support third term, I did not believe it.

Former Senate President, Chief Aldophus Wabara has disclosed that he had doubts when he was informed that his colleagues in the Senate were being offered the sum of 50 million Naira bribe in order for them to throw their weights behind the idea of a president staying in office for a third term.

Adolphus Wabara who spoke about such issues during an interview with Nigerian journalist and media personality, Adesuwa Giwa-Osagie, which was uploaded online few hours ago, disclosed that he turned down a 250 million bribe to support the third term agenda, adding that they were distributing 50 million Naira per senator to support such agenda.

Aldophus Wabara further revealed that he was not removed from the office of the Senate President by former president, Olusegun Obasanjo, adding that he resigned.

"When they said they were distributing 50 million Naira per senator to support third term I did not believe it. I resigned, Obasanjo did not remove me. There was no pressure on me to resign."
