Segun Sowunmi, the chieftain of the PDP, stated that the party has suspicions that Wike is either loyal to the opposition party, the APC, or the party.
He responded to accusations that Nyesom Wike should not have been invited to the NEC meeting on Thursday due to his suspected anti-party actions during the last presidential election.
He was quite explicit in saying that Nyesom Wike is still a devoted member of the Peoples Democratic Party, even if he is the FCT Minister in the APC government.
He clarified that while Nyesom Wike has not been sighted at any APC meetings, he was recently photographed at a meeting with the Peoples Democratic Party, demonstrating his allegiance and commitment to the PDP.
In reference to the problem in Rivers State, Segun Sowunmi asserted that Wike could not claim he would not provide the resources necessary for Governor Siminalayi Fubara to be elected, despite their differences on certain subjects.
He claimed that the PDP just temporarily gave Wike to the APC and that they would be able to retrieve him when it is appropriate.
He stated in an interview with Channels Television, "Many people said why did Nyesom Wike come to the PDP meetings; the answer is very simple and straightforward."
"His Excellency Governor Nyesom Wike has made it abundantly clear that he is serving in the APC government as the Minister of FCT and that he is a member of the PDP."
"There might be a duplication there because we have our suspicion that he is loyal to us or he is loyal to them; how else should he prove his loyalty? We have never seen him in any APC meeting, but you have seen him in PDP meetings."
