FCT Police PRO reacts as man said DPO arrested hotel customers, demanded N500,000 from each of them

The Public Relations Officer of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command, SP Josephine Adeh, on Monday, July 15, 2024, reacted to the post by a man who alleged that a Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in Abuja arrested customers of a hotel belonging to his brother and demanded for the sum of N500,000 from each of them.

The Police PRO urged the man to contact her through her phone and give her more details about the incident in order to carry out proper investigation into the matter.

The man, whose X handle is @PrinceOfIgala, disclosed in his post that the DPO of Gwarinpa Division of the command, whose name he gave as Hamza Galadima, allegedly raided his brother's hotel at an undisclosed area on Sunday afternoon, arrested the customers there.

He added that the the station, the DPO allegedly asked them to pay N500,000 each before they could be allowed to leave the station.

He also alleged that some of those arrested had already paid the money to secure their freedom, while also saying that he was once a victim of his raid in the FCT.

He said that he was ready to testify even before the Inspector General of Police (IGP) about the raid that he said was carried out by the DPO while he displayed photos and videos of the alleged raid of the hotel premises on his X handle.
