According to The Nation, The President General of Ohaneze Ndigbo, Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, has strongly refuted allegations suggesting that he intended to issue an apology to the Fulanis for the killings of Sir Ahmadu Bello and Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa during the 1966 coup. Speaking in Owerri, the Imo State capital, Iwuanyanwu dismissed the accusations as unfair and unjust, emphasizing that it is baseless to hold the Igbos accountable for the coup. He asserted that Ohaneze Ndigbo would never apologize for something they did not commit.
