According to Vanguard, the internal turmoil within the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Benue State has escalated with the indefinite suspension of Mr. Mkaa Pepe, the Chairman of the party in Buruku Local Government Area, and Mr. Michael Orakpe, the Chairman of the Council Ward, by the Executives of their Mbaya Council Ward.

The suspension notice, conveyed through a letter issued over the weekend and signed by Deputy Ward Chairman Achagh Terver, accuses the suspended leaders of engaging in alleged anti-party activities, which violate the provisions of the APC Constitution of 2014 as amended.

The accusations include leaking sensitive APC information to opposition members in the Mbaya Council Ward and inciting division within the party, leading to disunity and complexity.

The letter emphasizes that despite multiple attempts to address the behavior of Pepe and Orakpe, no positive changes have been observed, prompting the Ward Executives to pass a vote of no confidence and suspend them from the party.
