BREAKING: Identity of Individuals Who Attempted to Kidnap Pupils Revealed as 2 Killed by Residents

Another terrible fiasco occurred in Ibokolo Sub-Location, Butere, where a kidnapping attempt of two pupils led to two deaths of the gunmen and seven others sustain severe gun shot injuries.

The incident occurred around 6:30 PM when a group of nine people attempted to kidnap the children, an incident that incensed members of the public. The suspects include seven Somalis and two Kenyans who were spotted in a White Noah Van bearing number plate KCQ 386Q.

This prompted an action from the community after the attempted kidnapping of 14-year-old Bilal Ashika and another unidentified pupil from Mulwa Primary School.

People acted quickly and managed to arrest the suspects and punish them in a brutal way. The attackers were armed with pangas, and they inflicted severe cut injuries on the suspects.

According to reports, some of the suspects, including the driver, died at the scene of the shooting. The other seven were greatly injured and were rushed to Butere Sub-County Hospital for further treatment. Among the injured people there are two somali women and a man from the Luo tribe in Kenya called Stephen Ochung.

A Somali ID card which bore the name Amala Warsame Yusuf was also found on the suspects and through this the identities of the suspects were established.

Police officers who arrived at the scene of the disturbance apprehended the suspects in a feral condition with outstanding bruises and the vehicle in a poor state. The bodies of the deceased were taken to Butere Funeral Home where they were identified and autopsied on.

The two suspects sustaining injuries are admitted at a hospital under police guard. This occurrence has fueled debates on the problem of and trends in mob justice and its effects on law and order.

Ethical and legal questions are called into question due to the successful foiling of the kidnapping but the cost was human lives, some of which were severely injured. Police have started inquiries about the attempted kidnap, as well as the subsequent riots.
