A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party and one of the governorship aspirants during 2023 elections in Ogun State, Segun Showunmi, on Monday, cautioned President Bola Tinubu from toeing path of an ingrate.

Otunba Showunmi said that President Tinubu can not afford to be a betrayal of the trust the north has in the south as far as managing the political landscape of Nigeria is concerned.

Showunmi condemned Tinubu’s total neglect of Mallam Nasir El-Rufai and Yahaya Bello, the former governors of Kaduna and Kogi States, respectively, despite working tirelessly to ensure that the former governor of Lagos emerged last February as the new President of Nigeria.

The PDP chieftain disclosed this in a statement titled “This Madness Must Stop” and made available to journalists on Monday.

Showunmi accused Tinubu of allowing the former Kogi governor to suffer unnecessary humiliation at the hands of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission despite his invaluable contribution to actualising Tinubu’s presidency, while other former governors of the Peoples Democratic Party are allowed to stroll all over the town.

Showunmi said this amounts to highest of treachery and betrayal of trust reposed in a political leader.

He said “Upon reflection on the trajectory of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his journey to the presidency, I find my mind wondering if my Yoruba Uncle is still the same person that I have always known and admired.

The leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele has revealed that Nigeria main opposition party Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will lose a sitting governor to Labour Party and that another third force party will emerge.

In a statement signed by his media aide, Osho Oluwatosin, the renowned seer stated that the governor who is from the South-South descent will defect to the Labour party.

He explained that the current management of the party will continue to put the party in more crises and there will be a lot of important people decamping to another party as a result of the leadership crisis rocking the opposition party.

‘’A sitting governor in PDP will decamp, a prominent governor in South South will decamp to the Labour party. The current management will put PDP in a big problem, if PDP isn’t careful, the party will become a forgotten factor in the country.’’

The cleric further noted that although the current leadership will plunge the party into more issues, a powerful person will take over the party.

‘’The management will compress PDP, they will put the party into more crisis but I see a powerful person coming to take over the party,’’ he revealed.

Speaking on the third force, Primate Ayodele made it known that it will be a coalition of APC and PDP aggrieved members and that it will be a strong movement.

‘’However, I still see a third force that will be formed by aggrieved member of APC and PDP, it will be a strong one; both parties should prepare,” he added.

A former Governor of Sokoto State, Attahiru Bafarawa, on Monday lamented the activities of bandits in the north.

He revealed how bandits made him abandon his 10,000 hectares of land in Kaduna State.

Speaking tp newsmen on the backdrop of the high cost of foodstuff in the country, Bafarawa noted that people now seek permission from bandits before going to the farm.

He said bandits were the ones who decided which farm to cultivate or not in his community

“I used to have farmland, which is over 10,000 hectares in Birni Gwari of Kaduna State. I have been cultivating that land since 1979, but I cannot reach there now because of the bandits.

“The maize I produced that time is in commercial quantity that, I used part of it for my flour mill which is also out of production. The issue of insecurity is behind the high cost of food items because many farmers have been displaced,” the former governor told newsmen.
