Chelsea have announced that London-born Nigerian winger Chinonso Chibueze has left the Blues for Stoke City. The 2006-born player joined Chelsea at the U10 level, rising through the ranks to make his debut in the U18 Premier League in his final season as a schoolboy.

Chibueze has signed a professional contract with Stoke City and will join their development squad for the forthcoming campaign. His versatility allows him to excel anywhere in the front three, be it as a right winger, left winger, or center forward. Stoke City managed to pull off a transfer coup by luring Chibueze to ST4, despite several clubs being interested in his services.

This move underscores the promising opportunities Stoke City can provide for young talent. Last season, Chibueze represented Chelsea in the U18 Premier League, the U18 Premier League Cup, and the Premier League Cup. Overall, the 18-year-old made twenty-three appearances for the Blues in the U18 Premier League and showcased his scoring ability by netting twice in a 9-1 victory over West Brom in December 2023.

In the upcoming season, Chinonso will aim to follow in the footsteps of his elder brother, Kelechi Chibueze, by making his debut in the Premier League 2. Known for his direct and powerful attacking style, Chinonso prefers playing as a right winger and has consistently scored a high number of goals throughout his schoolboy years at Chelsea. Chibueze signed his first professional contract with Chelsea in January 2023, and his journey now continues with Stoke City, where fans eagerly await to see his impact on the pitch.
