Atletico Madrid have rejected a bid from West Ham United in excess of €35 million (approximately N66 billion) for Spanish-born Nigerian striker Samuel Omorodion, according to All Nigeria Soccer. The offer was tabled two weeks ago, but Atletico Madrid turned it down, indicating that they value the young striker highly.

West Ham are seeking to bolster their striking department with Michail Antonio set to depart the club upon the expiration of his contract at the end of this month and Danny Ings failing to impress last season. Omorodion had a decent loan spell with Deportivo Alavés last season, registering eight goals and one assist in all competitions.

Despite a dip in form towards the end of the season, Omorodion has attracted interest from several clubs, including Roma in Serie A. However, West Ham are the only club to have made an official bid for the 20-year-old striker.

Atletico Madrid's rejection of the offer suggests that they are holding out for a higher price for the talented young striker. With West Ham's need for a striker and Roma's interest in Omorodion, this transfer saga is far from over.
