Sani Advises Zamfara Government Not To Reject Appointment Of Ismaila On Religious, Ethnic Identities

The former lawmaker from Kaduna Senatorial District, Senator Shehu Sani—a human rights activist, nationalist, author, sociopolitical analyst, and member of the National Assembly—has pleaded with the Zamfara State Government to accept Dr. Keshinro Maryam Ismaila's appointment as federal Permanent Secretary for the Zamfara region.

After the Zamfara government rejected Dr. Maryam Ismaila's nomination to the position of federal Permanent Secretary, representing Zamfara state, Senator Sani made the announcement via his official social media account (X).

The ex-lawmaker pleaded with the Zamfara government to reconsider their rejection of Maryam's appointment.

Doctor Maryam is from Zamfara state, Sani informed her. Please reconsider your rejection of her, Zamfara government.

Sani further stated, "No person should be rejected because of the religious identity of his/her parents or ethnic identity of his/her spouse."
