Turkey against all odds made a promising start to their EURO 2024 round of 16 match against Austria this evening as they are leading at the break. However, here are the three Turkey players that inspired them to take the lead before halftime;
1. Merih Demiral
The defender scored the only goal of the first half and was solid in the defence as he made several interceptions and clearances. The manager will be expecting more from him in the second half.
2. Arda Guler
The youngster had an impactful game in the first half as he was busy creating goal-scoring chances for Turkey. He gave some key passes and completed two dribbles. He is expected to do more in the second half.
3. Kenan Yildiz
The left-winger was a menace to Austria's defence in the first half as he completed several dribbles to create goal-scoring chances. He was also effective in the defence as he won a few tackles. More is expected from him in the second half.
