Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has issued a passionate call to action, urging all who cherish the state's well-being to reject any endeavour that could regress its progress.

According to Channels Television, speaking at the country home of Sir Celestine Omehia in Ubima, Ikwerre Local Government Area, Fubara emphasised his unwavering dedication to leading with integrity and resilience, even in the face of political pressure.

Joined by esteemed elders of the state, Governor Fubara visited to offer condolences to Sir Omehia, who had recently laid his late mother, Mrs. Ezinne Cecilia Omehia, to rest.

Amidst the solemn occasion, Fubara seized the opportunity to rally support for the preservation of Rivers State's essence and unity.

Expressing concern over the divisive nature of contemporary politics, Fubara denounced the toxicity of bitterness in political discourse, warning against its detrimental effects on the state's advancement.

He stressed the importance of fostering a culture of unity and cooperation among those who profess love for Rivers State, urging them to actively oppose anything that may hinder its progress.

Governor Fubara pledged unwavering support for initiatives aimed at advancing the state's interests, reaffirming his commitment to championing causes that promote its growth and development.

He acknowledged the existence of formidable challenges threatening the state's soul but expressed confidence in prevailing with the collective support of like-minded individuals dedicated to its well-being.

In his address, Fubara emphasised the need to stand firm against regressive influences, whether direct or indirect, to safeguard Rivers State's future.

He called upon all stakeholders to unite in the fight against forces seeking to undermine the state's integrity, emphasising the imperative of solidarity in confronting such threats.

The governor urged citizens to prioritise the greater good of Rivers State above individual interests or partisan affiliations.

Fubara said, "Anybody who claims to love this state (Rivers) should not be party to anything, directly or indirectly, that will bring us backwards."
