New State Bill: Creating Another State In The South East Is Fair And Just- Shehu Sani

opera.com 2 days ago

Shehu Sani, a former senator from Kaduna State, has expressed his support for the creation of a second state in the southeast of Nigeria. He thinks it is right and important that the National Assembly is currently considering a bill that would create this new state.

This demonstrates Sani's belief that the establishment of a new state in the South East is essential to resolving concerns about regional governance and representation in the nation. A bill to create Orlu State, a new state in the Southeast, was recently introduced by the House of Representatives. Supported by Representative Ikenga Ugochinyere, the bill passed its first reading during Thursday's plenary session.

The 1999 Constitution would change if the bill passes and Orlu State becomes the 37th state in Nigeria. "In reference to the bill before the National Assembly, creating another state in the South East is fair and just," Shehu Sani stated on his Verified X page.
