Former President Goodluck Jonathan has expressed optimism that the country will soon overcome the current socio-economic challenges facing the people.
Jonathan stated this in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State capital, yesterday, while formally declaring open the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Yenagoa Law Week 2024 with the theme: ‘The Legal Profession In A Time Of Socio-Economic Uncertainty’.
The ex-President, represented by a lawyer and first-class monarch in Bayelsa, King Collins Daniel, noted that the Federal Government is doing its best to salvage the situation.

Tinubu hails Fashola’s public service at 61

President Bola Tinubu has congratulated former Lagos Governor, Babatunde Fashola, on his 61st birthday, hailing him as one of Nigeria’s most gifted minds.
Fashola, a renowned lawyer, administrator, and public policy expert, has had a distinguished career in private practice and public service, serving as Chief of Staff to President Tinubu during his tenure as Lagos State Governor and later as Governor of the state himself.
He also served as Minister of Power, Works, and Housing from 2015 to 2019 and Minister of Works and Housing from 2019 to 2023.

Nigeria forward, Umar Sadiq could leave Spanish club, Real Sociedad this summer.
According to Spanish publication, AS, Valencia, Bologna and Sevilla are currently interested in the striker.
The three clubs want to take him on loan for the 2024/25 season.
Sadiq barely played for Real Sociedad last season after recovering from an achilles tendon injury that sidelined him for around seven months in the previous campaign.
The 27-year-old started 15 matches from a possible 53 across all competitions for Real Sociedad last season.
