Fowler scored the game-winning goal in the 96th minute at Meadow Park after having earlier missed a penalty and opened the scoring. Both of Gareth Taylor's teams' previous seasons ended in the semi-finals, but this year they finally have a shot at winning it all.
Because of their obligations to the Champions League, they joined the tournament in the quarterfinals and won their first match against Manchester United. Chelsea, meanwhile, advanced to the final after defeating West Ham 2-0 and advancing past Durham.
In the previous meeting in 2022, Chelsea won 3-1 at Plough Lane; this year's final will be a repeat of that event. The first trophy of the season is at stake, so fans can expect another exciting matchup at Pride Park.
